The Great Indian #SELFIE
Having invaded the social media scene, #SELFIE the mega-hit viral music song by EDM wonder duo – The Chainsmokers – is about to get an Indian twist, as Universal Music India and Zee Café come together to present the Indian version of the infectious video.
The campaign for the SELFIE Indian version was announced just last month, after Universal Music and Zee Café flagged off an exciting contest, wherein fans had to submit their best selfie on the zee café twitter handle after which the best entries would stand a chance to feature in the music video. The contest saw an overwhelming and mad rush of selfies as over 5000 entries flooded in, each competing to be the ultimate SELFIE star! The wait for #Selfie India is now almost over as all contest hopefuls wish to be among the best entries, looking out to catch themselves in the music video!
Like its original counterpart which treated fans to a bevy of Hollywood celebrity selfies, the #Selfie Indian version will see some of the hottest names from the Indian entertainment and music industry. Superstars Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Sunny Leone, Neha Dhupia, Dia Mirza, Esha Gupta, Shaan, Anusha Dandekar and a host of other celebrities gear up to showcase some sass and oomph showcasing personal selfies for the video. Along with super star power, the Indian avatar will also cast everyday people from across India, giving them a once in a lifetime opportunity to share screen space with their much loved celebrities. The #SELFIE Indian version debut on the small screen on July 2014 only on Zee Café.
Encapsulating the global ‘selfie’ phenomenon, The Chaismokers hit single amazingly cashed on the current generation’s wild obsession with clicking self-portraits. Turning into an overnight viral sensation, the acts infectious single proved to be a masterstroke striking all the right chords with millions of selfie lovers’ world over!
