John Travolta took 2014 IIFA Awards Stage with the Bollywood Numbers
Two-time Academy Award Nominee and Two-time Golden Globe winner John Travolta takes to the 2014 IIFA Awards stage, dancing with Indian superstar Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan.
On Saturday 26th April at the 15th Annual Edition of the IIFA 2014 Weekend & Awards, the Award Winning Actor John Travolta made his presence felt in Tampa Bay, Florida as he arrived to join the Indian film fraternity to celebrate Indian cinema . Credited with a long list of Hollywood box-office hits including ‘Grease’, ‘Saturday Night Fever’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’, among others Travolta talked about Bollywood when he met with Indian, US and other worldwide media at the Weekend. He spoke of his fondness for Indian films saying, “I find Indian films very original in energy and life.” When asked about the stars, he said he would love to work with Aamir Khan and added, “I loved Priyanka Chopra’s Exotic. I also recently watched the Romeo and Juliet version (Ram-Leela) and I loved the girl (Deepika Padukone) in that.”
An icon to the many Indian actors present later that night, marking his official welcome into Bollywood, Travolta walked the green carpet of the Tata Motors IIFA Awards with Priyanka Chopra. Making his way into a 25,000 strong IIFA Awards audience at the Raymond James Stadium, Bollywood’s dance star, Hrithik Roshan awarded the star with a global recognition for Outstanding Contribution to Global Cinema. The two also caused a frenzy when they matched steps to the famously choreographed, ‘Staying Alive’.
The ‘Exotic’ star Priyanka Chopra also put on a performance for fans and pulled the Hollywood star onto the stage at the end with an Indian stylized performance with Travolta dancing to the hit song, ‘Tu Ne Mari Entry’ whilst pulling off the famous ‘I see you’ move from Pulp Fiction in what will promise to make great television for audiences across the world, when the Tata Motors IIFA Awards airs in June. The moments of John Travolta on stage at IIFA have received an overwhelming response from world fans, media and the entire Indian film industry.
